About Our Test: Test Results

One Test - Two Results

The SimpliPro Colon test is the only noninvasive test that reports separate results for colorectal cancer (CRC) and advanced adenoma (AA). Each results report also includes patient and practice information, as well as a test description and methodology.

For each indication, the following results may be reported:

Colorectal Cancer Results

Baseline Risk 1 in 10

Based on our study1 of symptomatic patients, the baseline risk of the presence of colorectal cancer was 1 in 10, as confirmed by colonoscopy. Symptoms associated with the subjects in these studies included palpable mass, anemia, change in bowel habits, bleeding, weight loss, distension of the abdomen and pain.

Higher Result 1 in 3

Higher Result
A higher test result indicates a 2.8-fold increase from average baseline risk, which means a 1 in 3 chance of a positive diagnosis of colorectal cancer, based on a study1 of symptomatic patients referred for diagnostic colonoscopy.

Lower Result 1 in 34

Lower Result
A lower test result indicates a 3.8-fold decrease from average baseline risk, which means a 1 in 34 chance of a positive diagnosis of colorectal cancer, based on a study1 of symptomatic patients referred for diagnostic colonoscopy.

No Difference From Baseline Risk
This result indicates the test algorithm value was not within the range of a reportable higher or lower result. In the validation studies for the development of the SimpliPro Colon test, 15% of patients evaluated received this result.

The SimpliPro Colon test is not a replacement for diagnostic colonoscopy.

Advanced Adenoma Results

Baseline Risk 1 in 14

Based on our study1 of symptomatic patients, the baseline risk of the presence of advanced adenoma was 1 in 14. Symptoms associated with the subjects in these studies included palpable mass, anemia, change in bowel habits, bleeding, weight loss, distension of the abdomen and pain. This was confirmed by colonoscopy with biopsy of endoscopic lesions.

Higher Result 1 in 7

Higher Result
A higher result indicates a 2.1-fold increase from average baseline risk, which means a 1 in 7 chance of a positive diagnosis of advanced adenoma, based on a study1 of symptomatic patients referred for diagnostic colonoscopy.

Lower Result 1 in 19

Lower Result
A lower test result indicates a 1.4-fold decrease from average baseline risk, which means a 1 in 19 chance of a positive diagnosis of advanced adenoma, based on a study1 of symptomatic patients referred for diagnostic colonoscopy.

The SimpliPro Colon test is not a replacement for diagnostic colonoscopy.
